TASTE THE QUALITY!

To our valued guests,
At Roger’s we are truly committed to providing you the freshest and highest quality product available. We are very excited to announce that on Monday October 22, 2018 all of our restaurant locations will be starting a new Country Natural Beef burger program that is 100% vegetarian fed, sustainably and naturally raised with no growth hormones or antibiotics ever.
When we were first introduced to Country Natural Beef we were extremely impressed by the amazing flavor and the quality of the beef. We wanted to know more about the beef program so we were invited to take a trip to learn more about the program and on this trip, we visited the Triangle Ranch in Heppner OR, the finishing lot in Boardman, OR and the meat processing facility in Portland, OR.
What we learned is that Country Natural Beef is a family owned Co-op of ranchers who birth and raise healthy, natural beef that is GAP certified (Global Animal Partnership). It consists of many small, local, rural farms and ranches that have committed to birthing and raise their cattle under strict guidelines that produce a high quality, healthy, sustainable product. All of the beef is produced under GAP requirements. They do not receive growth hormones, weight inducing additives, or antibiotics. They are fed 100% vegetarian diet.
They focus on raising their beef so they are healthy and productive with good quality feed, clean fresh water, shelter, and free from disease, illness and injury. (If an animal gets sick, they are treated with antibiotics and sold to the commodity beef market which makes up 90% of the beef market)
The ranchers consider themselves “stewards” of the land and ensure that they do not allow overgrazing of any area, and manage limited water resource to maintain plant and grass diversity and healthy streams. “They strive to leave the land better than we found it”
The rancher’s birth and raise their animals in an environment that allows them to express their natural behaviors effectively. By raising animals in an environment that provides them the ability to be inquisitive, happy and playful and minimize boredom, frustration, fear, stress, and pain as much as possible.
The calves are gradually weaned from their mothers as nature intended and are grazed on wild grasses until they are 14-16 months old. Then the steers travel to the finishing lot and are fed a diet that consists of alfalfa, cooked potatoes, puffed wheat, oats and hay. The finishing diet is precisely measured and fed on a strict time schedule to ensure that quality and flavor across multiple herds raised in various climates and with varying grass diets maintains a consistent finished flavor profile.
The entire process is centered on the overall quality of the lifestyle of the cow to ensure that they live a happy and healthy life. The ranchers own their product from birth to plate to ensure that this is achieved.
We feel that the County Natural Beef programs is in line with our company values not only with their commitment to product quality and consistency but also their sense of community, respect for their customer and their love for the land.
Sincerely,
Mark & Nicole Randolph & the Roger’s team
